'Syko Stu' Released from Hospital, Reveals Injuries Suffered in Raja Jackson Attack
The wrestler who was attacked by the son of ex-UFC
champ Quinton
Jackson has been released from the hospital, but he still has a
lengthy recovery ahead of him.
Last weekend, Raja Jackson appeared to violently assault Stuart Smith — aka “Syko Stu” — during what was supposed to be planned spot at Knokx Pro Wrestling event. The younger Jackson enters the ring, slams Smith to the mat and lands what seems to be a barrage of “real” punches on the defenseless wrestler. Eventually, Raja is pulled off of Smith, but not before he was left coughing blood and choking on his teeth. Smith was transported to a hospital after the incident.
Raja’s anger appeared to have stemmed from a backstage interaction
in which Smith “smashed” a beer can on the side of his head. Smith
apologized to Raja, who appeared to accept the gesture, setting the
stage for his inclusion in the match.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Smith’s wife, Contessa, detailed the extensive list of injuries suffered by her husband.
Stuart has been released from the hospital and is now home resting. He sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER. His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.
He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through.
We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we’ve received during this time. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way—whether through monetary donations, food, flowers, or gifts. Your kindness means more than words can express.
The Los Angeles Police Department is reportedly investigating the incident, but Raja Jackson has not been charged or arrested at this time. “Rampage” recently revealed that he has received death threats as a result of his son’s actions.
