The Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight division continues to be in a state of upheaval.
Valentina Shevchenko threw yet another wrench into the promotion’s plans, as she took a clear-cut unanimous decision over former champion Holly Holm in the UFC on Fox 20 main event in Chicago on Saturday night. While Holm may have seen a lucrative potential rematch with Ronda Rousey drift away in the Windy City, Shevchenko suddenly has a number of interesting options in front of her.

33: Significant strikes by which Shevchenko outlanded Holm, the first time an opponent has outlanded “The Preacher’s Daughter” in five Octagon appearances. Shevchenko outlanded Holm 18 to 11 in round two, 14 to 4 in round three, 21 to 9 in round four and 21 to 15 in round five. Holm, meanwhile, held a 15-to-13 advantage in the opening frame. Shevchenko also held a 119-to-73 edge in total strikes.

Holm landed 23.
44: Significant head strikes landed by Shevchenko; Holm, meanwhile, landed 20.

.470: Significant striking accuracy for Shevchenko, who landed 87 of 185 attempts. Holm landed 54 of 211 significant strikes, a 25 percent success rate.
3: Takedowns landed in seven attempts for Shevchenko, who controlled much of round three from top position. That is the most of any Holm opponent. The Jackson-Wink MMA representative had previously defended 13 of 15 takedown attempts against her in the Octagon.
56: Significant strikes landed by Edson Barboza in his unanimous decision triumph over Gilbert Melendez in the co-main event. By comparison, Melendez landed 39.
23: Significant leg strikes landed by Barboza. Melendez, whose movement was visibly hampered by that approach, landed just one. The Brazilian landed 20 significant leg strikes in rounds two (eight) and three (12) combined.
35: Significant strikes to the head landed by Melendez. Barboza, meanwhile, landed 23.
3: Consecutive KO/TKO victories in UFC competition for Francis Ngannou, putting him in a four-way tie for second place for the longest active knockout streak in the promotion. Mairbek Taisumov is first with four straight KO/TKO triumphs.
6: Finishes in UFC/WEC competition for Eddie Wineland, who stopped Frankie Saenz via technical knockout 1:54 into round three of their bantamweight clash. That figure ties him with Brian Bowles for third most in the combined history of the two promotions at 135 pounds. Renan Barao and Urijah Faber are tied for No. 1 with seven finishes. Wineland’s six KO/TKO victories are also most in bantamweight history.
910: Days since Wineland’s last Octagon triumph, a second-round technical knockout win over Yves Jabouin at UFC on Fox 10. Coincidentally, that victory also occurred in Chicago.
10: Featherweight victories for Darren Elkins, No. 2 in UFC history behind only Max Holloway (11). Elkins earned a unanimous verdict over Godofredo Castro in a preliminary contest on Saturday.
206: Total strikes landed by Elkins in victory. By comparison, Castro landed 67. Elkins outlanded his foe 66 to 13 in round one, 56 to 24 in round two and 84 to 30 in round three.
40: Significant ground strikes landed by Kamaru Usman in a decision triumph over Alexander Yakovlev. Usman held a 41-to-8 advantage in significant strikes and a 155-to-11 edge in total strikes in the welterweight tilt.
7: Takedowns landed in 14 attempts by Michel Prazeres in his decision triumph over J.C. Cottrell, the most of anyone at UFC on Fox 20. That figure matches Prazeres' UFC best; he also landed seven takedowns against Jesse Ronson at UFC 165.
123: Total strikes by which Alex Oliveira outlanded James Moontasri in their welterweight matchup. “Cowboy” landed 156 of 196 attempts, an 80 percent success rate.
76: Significant strikes landed by Jason Knight in a split-decision win over Jim Alers, the most of anyone in a three-round bout at UFC on Fox 20. Knight outlanded his opponent by 35 significant strikes.
