UFC 155 Medical Suspensions: Boetsch, Belcher, Johnson, Duffee Face 6 Months

Four fighters from Saturday’s UFC 155 card have been handed potential six-month medical suspensions by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

The NAC on Monday released a full list of suspensions from the event, which closed out the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s calendar year at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Middleweight Tim Boetsch, who suffered a third-round technical knockout loss to Constantinos Philippou, was suspended until June 28 with no contact until Jan. 29 for nasal fractures; if cleared he can return by Feb. 13. Fellow main card performer Alan Belcher also faces a six-month suspension due to jaw and knee injuries sustained in a unanimous decision loss to Yushin Okami. “The Talent” must have his right mandible and right knee examined and cleared before he can return to action. At a minimum, Belcher is not allowed to have contact until Feb. 28.

“The Ultimate Fighter 12” alumnus Michael Johnson was suspended until June 28 after injuring his left hand in a lopsided decision loss to “TUF 15” competitor Myles Jury in a preliminary bout. Johnson can compete as soon as Jan. 20 if he is cleared by a doctor. Heavyweight Todd Duffee also faces six months on the shelf after being ordered to undergo an MRI on his left knee following his first-round stoppage of Philip De Fries. If American Kickboxing Academy representative is cleared by a doctor he can return to the cage on Feb. 28.

Junior dos Santos: Suspended until Feb. 13; no contact until Jan. 29

Joe Lauzon: Suspended until Feb. 28; no contact until Feb. 13 -- multiple deep facial and forehead lacerations

Tim Boetsch: Must have nasal fractures cleared by doctor or no contest until June 28; minimum suspension, no contest until Feb. 13; no contact until Jan. 29

Alan Belcher: Must have right mandible x-rayed, if positive must be cleared by doctor; must have MRI or x-rays of right knee, if positive must have clearance from doctor or no contest until June 28; minimum no contact until Feb. 28

Yushin Okami: Suspended until Feb. 13; no contact until Jan. 9

Eddie Wineland: Suspended until Jan. 29; no contact until Jan. 20 -- lacerations

Brad Pickett: Suspended until Jan. 20; no contact until Jan. 13

Byron Bloodworth: Suspended until Feb. 28; no contact until Feb. 13 -- scalp laceration

Jamie Varner: Suspended until Feb. 28; no contact until Feb. 13

Melvin Guillard: No contact until Jan. 29 -- right shin laceration

Michael Johnson: Must have left hand cleared by doctor or no contest until June 28; minimum suspension no contest until Jan. 20, no contact until Jan. 13 -- right ear laceration

Todd Duffee: Must have MRI of left knee, if positive must be cleared by doctor or no contest until June 28; minimum suspension, no contest until Feb. 28, no contact until Feb. 13 -- right forehead laceration
