The first round of Professional Fighters League Europe’s bantamweight tournament will kick off in a bit over a month.
Per a release from the PFL on Friday, the lineup for the nine-fight show at the ING Arena in Brussels, Belgium, is official. While the organization had hinted that local combatants would serve high on the marquee, the billing reflects this and adds four 135-pound quarterfinals as well. These fights will all go down on July 5, with the European broadcast airing on Dazn while stateside viewers do not currently have established means to watch the event live.
The main attraction will see unbeaten Belgian prospect Patrick Habirora (6-0) collide with Ultimate Fighting Championship vet Danny Roberts (18-8). Since making his pro debut in January 2024, Habirora has not looked back. The Red Kings export has earned five of his six victories via strikes, with four of those coming in the opening frame. On the other side, this will be the first appearance in nearly two years for the former UFC fighter, who suffered three straight losses to conclude his time with the promotion.
The eight combatants at 135 pounds to open up the event will all be vying for the $100,000 prize along with a tournament belt. Additionally, PFL may advance the winner into next season’s global grand prix. The first match pits Dean Garnett (12-3-1) against Alexander Luster (9-2), with the latter a finalist in last year’s tourney. France’s Mahio Campanella (7-1) will ply his trade in his first PFL tournament against Matiss Zaharovs (7-3), a 2024 PFL Europe vet. A pair of promotional newcomers throw down in another quarterfinal as Anas Azizoun (5-1) faces aggressive Brazilian Gustavo Oliveira (10-2). The fourth bout of the bracket, and the first match of the day, comes between unbeaten Polish up-and-comer Jan Cieplowski (8-0) and “Boyka” Julien Lopez (7-4-1).
