Jorge Masvidal Says He’s Polite to Former Friend Turned Foe Colby Covington

The ordering process for Ultimate Fighting Championship pay-per-views has changed: UFC 244 is only available on ESPN+ in the U.S.

Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal is preparing for the biggest fight of his career this weekend when he takes on Nate Diaz at UFC 244 in New York City for the promotion’s newly-created “BMF” title.

The American Top Team gym product has been embroiled in a messy fallout with fellow ATT teammate Colby Covington which -- according to Masvidal -- all started when “Chaos” failed to pay one of the coaches from the gym for his services in a recent training camp.

Fellow welterweight Covington has rejected those claims and has publically berated Masvidal, particularly for requesting a title shot against Kamaru Usman over him.

“Gamebred” recently fielded questions from reporters during the UFC 244 media session and addressed his ongoing feud with his teammate and former friend (via MMAJunkie.com).

“That is my city, and I’m very polite to him. In the snap of a finger, I could have five cars packed to the teeth with individuals to make sure he never comes back,” Masvidal said. “I don’t want to do that. I want to handle it man to man. He won’t give me that. I just really want to talk to him and [ask] him, ‘What is your (expletive) problem?’”

Masvidal was at a loss for words as to why his teammate had turned on him “for Facebook likes” considering all the help he provided him in the past:

“Why after I let you sleep on my couch?” Masvidal said. “You ate off my food. I helped you get on MMA Junkie. I helped you get Ariel Helwani, BJPenn.com. Why would you just tread on me for Facebook likes? Are you that much of a (expletive)? And I’m that much of an idiot. The mistake is on me because I (expletive) let him.” Advertisement
