Joey Beltran is set to fight for the heavyweight title at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 9 against Chase Sherman.

When Beltran got the contract offer, he was excited but worried about one thing.

“I thought it was going to be seven rounds, so I’m excited to fight only five rounds and put on a show,” Beltran said to Sherdog.com.

Beltran is confident he will win this fight by finishing Sherman. He expects to get the knockout, whether it is in the first round or in the later rounds.

“It’s going to one of two ways. If Chase brings the fight, it is going to end quick. I’m going to knock him out fast,” he said. He won’t have the pace or the power to knock me out. If Chase tries to be smart, then I will walk him down and finish him later in the fight.”

According to Beltran, becoming BKFC heavyweight champ will have a major impact on his legacy.

“It would mean a lot. To me, this is about legacy and making my legacy. I always wanted to be the heavyweight champion of the world, so this is it. This is my shot,” Beltran concluded. "To have an opportunity to do it, and do it in one of the oldest forms of combat sports is awesome. I’m going out there and getting that belt.”
