Kamaru Usman: By The Numbers

Kamaru Usman has shed his prospect label and has begun building equity as a full-fledged contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight division.

The Hard Knocks 365 representative will put his 10-fight winning streak on the line against Norwegian brawler Emil Weber Meek in a featured UFC Fight Night 124 on Sunday at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis. Usman has compiled a perfect 6-0 record inside the Octagon and looked downright dominant in doing so. “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 21 winner last competed at UFC Fight Night 116 on Sept. 16, when he knocked out four-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Sergio Moraes less than three minutes into their encounter. Usman has delivered seven of his 11 professional victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.

4: Wins by decision, all of them unanimous.

5: Organizations in which Usman has competed as a professional mixed martial artist. They are the UFC, Legacy Fighting Championship, Victory Fighting Championship, Championship Fighting Alliance and Resurrection Fighting Alliance.

6: Wins by knockout or technical knockout. They account for 55 percent of his career total.

10: Welterweights listed above Usman in the latest UFC rankings. They are Tyron Woodley, Stephen Thompson, Rafael dos Anjos, Colby Covington, Robbie Lawler, Demian Maia, Jorge Masvidal, Darren Till, Neil Magny and Santiago Ponzinibbio.

20: Takedowns executed in UFC competition. His opponents have yet to record one.

29: Years of age. Usman was born on May 11, 1988 in Auchi, Nigeria.

51.9: Percent of significant strikes landed, according to FightMetric. Usman ranks sixth on the UFC’s all-time list among welterweights in the category, behind Matt Brown (54.0), Nordine Taleb (53.5), Georges St. Pierre (53.3), Alan Jouban (52.7) and Matt Hughes (52.0).

85: Combined wins between the six men -- Moraes (12), Sean Strickland (19), Warlley Alves (11), Alexander Yakovlev (23), Leon Edwards (14) and Hayder Hassan (six) -- Usman has defeated since joining the UFC roster in 2015.
