Sherdog’s Top 10: One-Punch Knockouts

No. 7

7. Brad Kohler vs. Steve Judson
UFC 22 “There Can Be Only One Champion”
Sept. 24, 1999 | Lake Charles, Louisiana

All it took was 30 seconds for Kohler to obliterate Judson.

After executing a double-leg takedown and then losing his grip on a guillotine, Kohler circled away, as did Judson. In the blink of an eye, Judson rushed in at the same time the muscle-bound Kohler unfurled a crushing right hand to the jaw. The punch instantly short-circuited Judson: He half-turned to his right and fell stiff, face-first onto the canvas. Referee John McCarthy called off the action, as Kohler calmly turned away before shouting into the audience. Kohler authored several terrific knockouts over the years, but none matched this one.

The one-punch Kohler knockout has appeared on countless highlight reels, a prime example of the need to protect one’s chin at all costs.
