CASE FOR: Even if he retired tomorrow, Weidman would be remembered as an important figure for bringing to an end the long reign of MMA’s most dominant champion, Anderson Silva. The UFC middleweight champion scored another memorable victory in a great fight against the tricky Lyoto Machida at UFC 175 and has done well on pay-per-view during a period in which buy rates have been in decline. CASE AGAINST: Weidman appears to be just getting started. It was not altogether fair, but many questioned the nature of his two wins over Silva. VERDICT: Should he go in? It is too soon to say at this point, but he already has the highs of a hall of famer. All he needs is more longevity.
