On Oct. 29, 2011, the Ultimate Fighting Championship was at the Mandalay Bay Events Center for UFC 137. The event was supposed to take place in Liverpool, England, on Oct. 15, but issues with broadcasting resulted in the event being moved to Las Vegas.

In the main event, former two-weight UFC champion B.J. Penn took on, and lost a decision to, Nick Diaz in a welterweight bout. The loss marked the beginning of the Hawaiian’s current seven-fight losing streak. The co-main event saw Cheick Kongo beat Matt Mitrione by decision, which marked Mitrione’s first loss as a pro.

UFC 137 also saw Roy Nelson TKO Mirko Filipovic, Donald Cerrone submit Denis Siver and Brandon Vera beat Eliot Marshal by decision.

The card had a buyrate of 280,000 with 10,313 in attendance.
