Showtime Boxing Weigh-in Results: Joshua, Breazeale Ready to Brawl

Showtime will be a busy network on Saturday as not only with it be airing a major boxing event on CBS, it will also be bringing fight fans a heavyweight championship bout from across the Atlantic.

Newly-crowned IBF titleholder Anthony Joshua will make the first defense of his belt when he takes on Dominic Breazeale in the main event at the O2 Arena in London, England. A super middleweight clash between George Groves and Martin Murray will serve as the evening’s co-feature.

Breazeale (17-0, 15 KOs), a 2012 Olympian, will be facing the biggest test of his still-blossoming career. The powerful puncher has looked stellar thus far, but Joshua is a tall order for “Trouble” but he looked solid at Friday’s weigh-ins. Breazeale officially clocked in at 255 pounds.

Joshua (16-0, 16 KOs) has lethal punching ability and it was on full display in April when he destroyed Charles Martin within two rounds to capture his title. The U.K. fighter looked a ready as ever on the scales and weighed in officially at 243.25 pounds.

Groves and Murray both made weight as well. Groves came in at 167.5 pounds while Murray tipped the scale at 168.1.

The action will go live on Showtime beginning at 5:15 p.m. ET/2:15 p.m. PT.
