Rashad Evans will appear on NBC's “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”on Friday night to promote his upcoming bout with Tito Ortiz in the main event of UFC 133.

Evans' representation, Authentic Sports Management, announced the news this week. UFC 133 goes down Aug. 6 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

"We are thrilled that Rashad will be in the national spotlight," ASM president Glenn Robinson said in the release. "I'm excited that fans will have this chance to get to know Rashad better before he battles for light heavyweight title contention at UFC 133.”

Evans was initially supposed to face Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title at the event. However, after Jones withdrew with a thumb injury, he was replaced by undefeated prospect Phil Davis, who was himself later forced out of the contest with knee trouble. Stepping up on late notice, Ortiz looks to provide Evans with a rude homecoming, as this marks the first time “Suga” has stepped into the Octagon since a May 2010 victory over Quinton Jackson at UFC 114.

The “Late Night” series began in 1982, hosted by David Letterman. In 1993, Conan O'Brien would take the reigns before Fallon was named host in 2009. A former staple of Saturday Night Live, Fallon has spent three seasons at the helm of “Late Night.” The show airs weeknights at 12:35 a.m. on NBC.
