Combate Americas Debuts in Hidalgo, Texas, on June 21

In partnership with Miami-based TS-1 Promotions, Combate Americas announced that it will be making its Hidalgo, Texas, debut when it hits the State Farm Arena on Friday, June 21.

Closing out the show in the main event slot will be Enrique "Baby Bull" Gonzalez against Alejandro "Pato" Martinez (4-3). Competing in a 150-pound catchweight bout, "Baby Bull" (7-3) fights out of Chicago but hails originally from Laredo, Texas. Martinez, a Jalisco, Mexico, native, is hoping to bounce back from a hometown, first-round TKO loss against Erick "The Ghost Pepper" Gonzalez on March 8.

"I am excited to bring a world-class [mixed martial arts] event to Hidalgo for the first time, as part of the Combate Americas live television series that has become a powerhouse vehicle and disruptor in the sport, and with a main event between two young, exciting and relentlessly aggressive competitors like Enrique Gonzalez and Alejandro Martinez," said TS-1 Promotions CEO Greg Bloom.

Gonzalez, 21, has finished five of his seven wins by way of knockout or submission. Since making his professional debut in 2016, Gonzalez has yet to be stopped. Martinez, 28, trains with top Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.

The remainder of the TS-1 Promotions/Combate Americas card has yet to be determined. As is usual for Combate Americas, the MMA event will stream live in English on Dazn and air in Spanish on Univision.
